Keep the artwork in a dry, stable environment, away from humidity, sudden temperature changes, and direct sunlight. UV rays may alter certain colors over time, and excessive humidity can lead to mold and deformation. Conservation institutions recommend a stable environment with a relative humidity ideally between 40% and 60% for canvas paintings. 

Handle the artwork with care and avoid any pressure on both the painted surface and the back of the canvas, as impacts, marks on the reverse, or mechanical pressure may, over time, cause cracks or lifting of the paint layer.   

Do not use a dry or damp cloth, feather duster, hard brush, vacuum cleaner, or compressed air. If the surface is stable and shows no signs of lifting or flaking, very light dusting may be done using a clean, soft, natural-bristle brush; otherwise, it is best to do nothing. For any cleaning, stains, tears, or damage, it is recommended to consult a professional conservator-restorer.
